From the President

What’s better than being recognized by your peers?Just ask these folks who entered and won the top two prizes at our 10th Annual Lake Communicators APEX Awards.
Creative Director and Designer Renee Boronka won the “Best of Show – Print” for her Cleveland Museum of Natural History Calendar. Lake Communicators member Vedda Printing represented by Stacey Eshelman printed the winning entry.
The “Best of Show – Digital” went to Blackbird Interactive whose client was Blue Star Design for Flierstyler.com. Blackbird’s Pat Walsh was creative director and designer, and developers were Justin Greer and Julia Briggs.
But wait, there’s more. All of the winning entries and their teams are now individually recognized on the Lake Communicators website and will show up in search engines. Just another benefit of belonging to Lake Communicators.
Don’t miss out on the APEX competition next year and take the opportunity to show us your best stuff.

Content Marketer Joe Pulizzi Shares Tips at Joint June Meeting
By Kristi Ward

When a guru shares his top secrets, it’s best to listen, take notes and get all the information you can.
So when content marketing guru Joe Pulizzi shared his “Five Essentials to Epic Content Marketing for Business” at last month’s joint Lake Communicators/Willoughby Western Reserve Chamber of Commerce meeting, I listened attentively and scribbled furiously.
We all want our blog posts, e-zines, white papers, posts, pins and tweets to reach our audiences and produce meaningful, measurable results.
Thankfully, Pulizzi showed us how to pull the myriad of content and social media pieces/parts together into well-oiled content marketing machines that get results.
