It’s hard to believe, but it’s time for the Holidays again, and we will have another FUN White Elephant Party at the Firehouse on Tuesday, Dec 12th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Appetizers are on us, and we will also have a cash bar. Please bring a wrapped White Elephant gift (something you own that you don’t want or don’t use) and we’ll have a good time with our swap. We will also have some door prizes, and we encourage all of you to bring your own company gear and giveaways as well.

We know, you’re probably too busy to take on anything extra. Ask yourself: why did you join Lake Communicators in the first place?
If one of your reasons was to strengthen your professional network, then consider joining a committee. It sounds scarier than what it is in reality, which usually ends up being a few extra emails, possible a meeting or two over coffee and a few extra tasks spread out over the course of the year.
The benefits? More professional connections and insider knowledge. Plus, committee members usually find out about new job opportunities and project or client leads before the information is sent to LC membership.
We hope you consider joining a committee in 2018. Our Committees include:

Handles new member requests, works on membership outreach.
Programs and Meeting Administration
Enlists speakers, manages programming and meetings.
Apex Committee
The Apex Awards recognize professionals in the communications industry affiliated with Lake Communicators and Lake County, Ohio. Eligibility is extended to companies, organizations, free-lancers, and individuals who live in, work in, and/or provide services to clients in Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties.
Marketing and Publicity
Development of marketing materials, campaigns and strategies for organization.
Speakers Bureau
Manages Speakers Bureau members and inquiries and promotion of program.
The Buzz
Members-only newsletter with marketing news, events, member announcements, meeting reminders, other happenings in the area and more.
VOICE
Our monthly newsletter promotes our monthly luncheons, has columns and articles of interest and welcomes new members.
Social Media
Maintains and promotes organization and its activities on LinkedIn and Facebook and other social media outlets.
Website
Makes most content updates and maintains website.
Community Project Committee (ad hoc)
This temporary committee was formed in 2014 to implement a project benefiting the community.

No Corporate Holiday Party? No Problem!
Cleveland Startup and Small Business Community Gathers for Holiday Bash – December 9
For the third year running, Infinite Arthroscopy, Inc. is throwing a holiday bash for the Cleveland startup and small business community. As always, there will be great food and drink from local vendors. This year the party is at Terrestrial Brewing Company, a new brewery on Cleveland’s west side.

Due to the rising costs of the party, we have decided to offer two different ticket options:
- Free ($0): No money? No problem! This ticket gets you unlimited free food and one free drink (but you do have to RSVP)
- Open Bar ($25): Want to help support the event (or want to drink a lot)? Great! This ticket gets you unlimited free food and unlimited free drinks.
